The bag full of cats

I was reading an article that whined about Loki's character not being developed well enough in The Avengers. I disagree. I actually think there is growth between the Loki we see in Thor versus the Loki we see in Avengers. Granted, we don't know all about the places he's been or the allies he's made (other than Thanos, the Other, and the Chitauri). But I'm assuming that we will learn those things in future films. Thor simply introduces the character and sets the stage for him to be pissed off about his "true parentage" and not getting crowned as king. By Avengers, he wants to make a much bigger mess. I still think his speech to Black Widow is one of the film's best moments. I thought the smackdown from Hulk was corny, yes, but I think Loki wouldn't have gotten captured if he didn't have some other plan. Might be wishful thinking on my part, but I bet his mischief isn't finished. I'm excited to know what he'll be like in Thor 2. I felt like we learned more about him and saw the character become more defined in Avengers. Some reviewers said they thought his laughing and smiling was too maniacal. I wasn't put off by that. I thought Heath Ledger's Joker was the saving grace of The Dark Knight and he had that same maniacal laugh and anarchist view. Crazy villains are allowed to be, well, crazy.

It seems a fair assumption to me that Loki likes carnage and violence for its own sake. He is the god of mischief, after all.

This seems like a good casting choice to me. I'm jazzed to see how Guardians shapes up and if Iron Man will figure in. Frankly, I'm still super curious about how Rocket Raccoon will look in the movie and who will voice him.
