Sam Adams Harvest Pumpkin Ale

First of all, I love fall. It's my favorite season. I love fall foods, too: pumpkin pie, spice cake, snickerdoodle cookies. Mmm. So it was not a hard sell to convince me on trying Harvest Pumpkin Ale. I'd say on my beer tasting quest, it's easily one of my favorites to date. The smell, color, and texture are great. Seems like it would be good while you sit around the campfire, decorate for Halloween, or go on a hay ride. It evokes that sense of autumn to me. I sat down with it and thought, "Damn. Why is it not October yet?" August has its merits but eh. It's wet and swampy here this year and I get ravaged by mosquitoes each time I go out. I'm ready for fall. As I was sowing the seeds for the fall and winter garden, I listened to The Unforgettable Fire. It might seem strange with the heat and sweat but it was meant as a vision for the future-- what the land will look like at harvest time. It's an album I've always associated with fall and winter because, well, it talks a lot about those seasons.

See how thought-provoking a good beer can be, LOL?

Scent: 4.5/5, taste is 4.75/5

Will be enjoying this one again.
