Arsey Darcy has some sort of Apple TV thing. And it has radio subscriptions on it. I get some weird stations through Sirius on Dish, which is fine. I listen to the 80s on 8 more than anything else. Also turn on the spa channel when I want to go to sleep sometimes. Anyway, one station he scrolled by was like all Jamiroquai all the time and we’re like, “Uh, considering they only had like 3 hits in the US, is the channel nothing more than those 3 songs over and over, back to back?” We were listening to some station of oddball chill music and they played this really corny sax instrumental. I’m like, “Is this Kenny G on steroids?” Because it was loud sax up in the ear canal. I said that it reminded me of either a bad sex scene in a Lifetime movie where the sheet strategically covers everything and there’s no visible nudity or a bad cop drama. So we made up an entire movie based on what we were hearing.
*Cop is walking down the street in a light mist. There is steam coming up from the subway.
*Cop is three days away from retirement. His colleagues are planning his retirement party with a cake and a hat that says “Gone Fishin’.”
*Shit goes wrong. The cop’s partner is killed in a botched job. (Robbery, drug deal gone bad, mistaken identity.) It later turns out that the captain is crooked.
*Cop lives in a crap apartment. The walls are dirty and there are dirty coffee cups anywhere. A lot of shit TV dinners and spoiled Chinese take-out. His neighbor is an elderly lady who stays in all the time and has cats. She always wears a tattered bathrobe.
[Chill Channel switches to Chinese music]
*Cop goes into a Chinese restaurant. In the front, it’s all legitimate business. Downstairs, it’s an illegal gambling hall. There he meets a Chinese girl that he gets the hots for.
*Cop has to save the Chinese girl and he falls for her. The mist rain has now turned into a full out rainstorm when they try to consummate their relationship.
*Bad guys break in and shoot her as they are trying to get frisky.
*Cop must bring the bad guys to justice. He discovers that the crooked captain who killed his partner is also behind the Chinese gang that killed his almost-girlfriend.
