Two you can pass on

I tried Rock Hard Root Beer this weekend . . .  blech. I had high hopes for it since it's locally brewed. Unfortunately, it was not as expected. It smelled like nail polish remover and tasted like some frat boy mixed cheap beer with A&W. It was a bit syrupy, too. I'm not even going to give it a number rating. Just pass it by.

Same thing with Shiner Oktoberfest. It did not compete with Sam Adams Octoberfest at all. It had a skunky aftertaste and just seemed cheap. After three or four sips, I pitched it. I'm not really sure where it went wrong but I won't be getting more of it. I found it for $1 at the beer hodgepodge and then only consumed about 15 cents worth.
