If I may geek out for a moment:

Yes, exactly! The whole trickery of the Mandarin was like wiping their asses with the comic books. Let's hope Thor 2 doesn't turn out to be the same kind of odd disappointment. The part about the terrible extra made me snort laugh. It would've only been better if that dbag was played by Rob Huebel.
On an unrelated Cheezburger note, this sign actually gives me hope for the future:

Sure, it's no Norma Rae "Union" sign, but it gets the point across, errors and strange colored marker choices notwithstanding. These people finally got pissed off enough to walk. Instead of remaining cogs in the machine, they said, "Fuck you, I'm out." And were ballsy enough to post their departure on the store entry. I remember being at a shitty job where my boss actually approached me about working a 32 hour shift. I thought she was joking but then it was made clear that she wasn't. She expected me to start my shift on Friday afternoon and not stop until Sunday afternoon. Her attempt at selling me on it was, "After that, you can pick any day you want to finish out the other 8 hours!" I'm sitting there thinking, "Are these bitches completely crazy?!?!" And yes, yes, they were. I declined and made the comment, "I'm fairly sure if I asked the labor board about being made to work for 32 hours straight with no breaks and no relief, they would frown upon it." I tried to garner interest in unionizing because I was not the only worker in that office who was treated poorly. One lady had been there for a hundred years and was barely making the salary equivalent of $16 bucks an hour. They kept all of us on salary and claimed we would get "flex time" for all hours over 40. But naturally, whenever you attempted to cash in your flex time, it was denied. People were always game to complain and talk about what a shithole this place was but no one ever did anything about it. We were highly trained for the roles we had-- someone off the street or some temp from an agency couldn't merely walk up and do what we were doing with five minutes of direction. We were in a perfect position to tell the management, "Guess what? It's fuck or walk. We're unionizing and if you don't treat us fairly, we strike. Good luck running this shithole then." No one had my moxie. I toughed it out a little over a year and then left. If people aren't willing to band together and demand better, nothing really gets solved. As my friend, Tina, so wisely observed, "A one man riot really sucks." So you leave and they find some other desperate soul who'll unknowingly sign up for a hell ride. I saw a Wal-Mart commercial about keeping prices low and doing anything necessary to not be beaten on discounts. I met a department manager who makes something like $9.60 an hour and that pretty much tells me where the low, low prices come from. So while I normally roll my eyes at the conduct of Gen Y, I feel like this trio of kids got it right. Most offices nowadays suck ass (this is a political rant for another time), but here's hoping they find a place that sucks less.
