I am going to post my The Dark Knight Rises thoughts. There are definite spoilers here so DO NOT read on if you have not watched it yet. You have been warned!
SPOILERS . . .

*Tom Hardy really is unrecognizable as Bane. If you didn't know that was him, you would never guess. The voice was really bizarre to me. It was like a cross between Sean Connery and my friend Kevin's Unemployed Skeletor character. Sometimes it was even difficult to understand. http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/07/17/dark-knight-rises-who-inspired-hardys-bane-voice
*Of all the renderings of Catwoman, I think this movie does it best. No weird Michelle Pfeiffer getting shoved out a window and nibbled on by cats. A Catwoman who's just a cat burglar criminal. That I can live with.
*Still don't understand why Christian Bale talks like he thinks Batman has asthma. Severe, debilitating asthma.
*Cobra Commander is Robin in this film.
*When Batman and Catwoman kiss, some girl in the audience goes, "Oh no they didn't!" really loudly, which cracked me up.
*On the way in, we ran into my friend's cousin and he goes, "You guys are in for 2.5 hours of awesomeness!"
*So glad that Cillian Murphy makes an appearance. He is still so beautiful.
*Tom Hardy's upper body is just jacked to the roof. Oh my Lord. http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/tv-movies/tom-hardy-packed-30-pounds-villain-bane-dark-knight-rises-article-1.1117794?localLinksEnabled=false
His shoulders are a thing of beauty.
*After Heath Ledger as the Joker, it is hard to find a better villain. Bane is good but he's much more physical. He's big and brutal and tough. He'd rather break your neck or break Batman's back with his bare hands. The Joker would rather give you one hell of a mindfuck before shooting you or blowing you up. Http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1683188/dark-knight-rises-star-tom-hardy-calls-bane-no-joke.jhtml Someone like that is much harder to predict or understand and is, therefore, scarier. It's like my argument about Hannibal Lecter's backstory. (http://sarasplacetorant.blogspot.com/2007/09/hannibal-rising.html) When you start explaining too much, the villain is not as scary. There is nothing more terrifying than when Hannibal says that no set of circumstances made him- he simply is. You get more of that unpredictable wild card factor with the Joker.
