I already have been!

So I am sitting here nursing a sinus headache, waiting for this Tylenol to kick in and watching an ep of The Persuaders. In one of the opening scenes where Tony Curtis is sitting at a roulette table, Roger Moore leans over him to say he's ready to leave the casino. I was thinking to myself, "How cool would it be to be that close to such an awesome guy as Roger Moore?" And then it hit me, "Oh my God. I already have been!" It still hasn't all the way sunk in. I met my idol. The man amongst men.

And yes, to answer the questions of a few curious blog readers out there, I did make it to Quantum of Solace this weekend. Went to see it on opening night as a matter of fact, like any good Bond nerd would do. It was funny to me how many guys were in there with their girlfriends. The guys were glued to the screen while the girls were goofing off with their cell phones looking bored. "Amateurs," I thought. Anyway, I liked Q of S. I viewed it more as a sequel to Casino Royale than a stand-alone Bond film. A sort of necessity movie to tie up the loose ends of what happened with Vesper before moving on to another plotline. It's a darker Bond than what we've seen in a while. Even darker and more serious than Dalton's Bond. No clowns in Octopussy's circus or villains with metal teeth or Bondola chase scenes with Craig's Bond. We are getting much closer to the literary Bond who is cold, calculating and detached. If you haven't seen it yet, get your ass to a theater immediately. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, just get to the theater and see it ASAP.
